Ed Musante is a Professional Engineer (PE) and Project Management Professional (PMP) involved in Earned Value Management and Project Control since 1996. He is a subject matter expert in the field of Earned Value Management and author of “Earned Value Management for Defense Contractors” published in 2009.

Ed currently works as a Project Control Analyst at the Missile Defense Agency. Prior to working at MDA, Ed was the Earned Value Management Specialist at the Cruise Missile Defense Systems, a program office of PEO Missiles & Space. At CMDS, he was instrumental in the design, development, implementation, and operation of a government-to-government Earned Value Management System. Also at CMDS, he was the Earned Value Analyst on the JLENS project, a multi-year $1.8B project.

Before moving to Huntsville in 2004, Ed worked as an earned value and scheduling specialist at several program offices in the Washington DC area and as a Raytheon contractor at the US Army installation located on the Kwajalein Atoll in the Republic of the Marshall Islands. As a Project Control specialist, he managed the schedule, EVMS, budget, manpower, and logistics for several projects.

Prior to working in Project Control, Ed was a software engineer where he was a part of engineering teams that designed and developed Energy Management Systems. His primary focus were the applications dealing with Automatic Generation Control, Real-time Contingency Analysis, Power Flow Analysis, and database modelling of the power grid. Ed designed and implemented software applications for General Public Utilities located in Parsippany, New Jersey, Metropolitan Edison of Reading, Pennsylvania, and Southern Company Services of Birmingham, Alabama.

Ed has lived in the Huntsville/Madison area since 2004. He currently lives in Huntsville with his wife, Edwina. He has two daughters, Maria and Stephanie, and two grand-daughters, Aubrey and Alexa.
